Walking the mall...

More Pool Time...

So far, God is listening...
No real indication of labor... still getting those contractions, however not as consistent as before. I was able to sleep a little and relax. Though every time I had to get up and move, I got another contraction. It was like punishment for not laying still. Now my pelvis and back hurt something terrible and I'm gonna somehow get myself up those stairs to fetch the heating pad. I cannot sit in this chair any longer, I might cry.

Contractions getting regular...
PLEASE do not let this be labor.
They are still far apart: 9-10 minutes.
But definitely feel like REAL contractions, so I'm hoping this is some kind of joke and my body is just getting "ready".
Andy is in Dallas and my mother is SICK (and I mean sick... saw her today, she is in NO condition to help out and do I want her spreading her sick to Sydney who can spread it to a newborn baby???? NO!).
Crap, man!
Dear Jesus,
Do you have another, like, back up plan for me? Can we go that route?

my treat
After the day I had, I treated myself! I woke up with Sydney early, after she had an hour-long coughing fit, which I deemed allergies again. Got her ready and it was SO beautiful outside I couldn't make any excuses good enough to NOT go for a nice walk on town lake. So off we went and I made it 3 miles. We fed the ducks (and ever other living creature downtown), then ran over to the fountains where she frolicked a good hour and I willingly watched with a smile on my face. I even ran in there with her a few times. Then we went to HEB, to, again, try and buy everything I think (in my head) we will need in this house while I am "recovering" from birth or something. The longer this pregnancy drags out, the more crap I think we need! But lately I've had the bug to cook, so I'm cooking meals ahead of time. I'm sure Andy is not complaining. I had to get my mom some milk as well. Ran into two of my friends there, and after an hour of grocery shopping we drove over to MeMaw's house. MeMaw is sick, so Sydney did her righteous duty of making her feel better while tolerating Murder She Wrote on in the background... she didn't even once ask for her own show. Then we went home, unloaded groceries and got ready for dance, and hopped over to dance class. Meanwhile, Andy took off on a last minute trip to Dallas and won't be back until Thursday morning (oy!). After dance we came home and Sydney helped me make sloppy joes, which she ate for the first time. The ENTIRE sandwhich! So after all of that... I treated myself with a hot bath full of epsom salt and a light glass of wine. Mmmmmm! I feel a happy ending to my day!
More 38 weeks
Okay, when I took the pictures I realized that I got stretch marks!!! I guess I can't see UNDER the belly there, so I had no idea! I didnt get ANY stretch marks with Sydney so I wasn't worried about it! I immediately lathered a pound of cocoa butter on it!! lol... I'm also getting that weird brown stripe down my belly.Town Lake, fountains, HEB, Dance... etc
I didn't think I would make it, but I managed to walk 1.5 miles uphill to from our parking spot to the usual duck "hide out" where Sydney wanted to do her part in nourishing all of mother nature.until this guy showed up. will someone PLEASE tell me what the heck this dude is!!?? Is this like a cross between a Mallard and a turkey or something?? Aaron?
Walking back. I wasn't excited about it, because I knew I had to trek the same distance back to the car. This was the view looking down.
Just going up this bridge I thought I was going to die and all these athletic, healthy Austinites just ran past me as if there was NO hill there or something.
UGH!!! she's one of "those" kids now!!!!! Thank you 10yo boy from southpark meadows for making my kid think this is 'cool'!!!!!!

conversation
Me: Sydney what happened to your arm?
Syd: I got a booboo on it and it's bleeding
Me: Why didn't you tell me? That looks bad, let's get a band-aid
Syd: Mom, you need to let me handle this on my own

A day of "firsts"
Southpark After Dark
We got to this free concert series in the spring/summer at Southpark Meadows (which is a shopping center up the road from us... where I do pretty much all of my shopping!)
They have the sprinklers going, free live music and families camped out on lawn chairs chatting and eating ice cream.
It was such a nice evening and even perfect weather. But Syd and I went to get soft serve cones and when we got back the band had stopped and panic was in the air. A little girl named Jordan turned up missing and NO ONE could find her anywhere. Everyone had to stay seated and get their kids off the playground etc until she was found. They called police and it took about 40 minutes, but they finally got her!!!!! It was so scary.
