Another Sick Day

Last night, after everyone had their bath or shower, Sydney & Kelli watched one "before bed show" together.

Kelli is into Sydney's shows, especially if there's alot of music

Sydney woke up with a fever this morning. DANGIT!!! I couldn't tell if it was allergies but she was coughing alot and complained about her tummy. She stayed in bed until noon, and at that point Andy had already left for Dallas (again!) and I made my friend Smitha dinner, which we went to deliver (she just had a baby). So I took the kids and went to deliver the food leaving Syd inside JUST incase. Afterwards we went to HEB, and on our way out... it was POURING rain. Awesome. But we made it home alive and within 10 minutes I found Sydney sound asleep on the couch. Very unlike her... so my vote is that she's sick.

However, perfectly gorgeous!

Random

Kelli sat here and watched me drink my coffee on Monday. I can truthfully testify that coffee isn't as enjoyable with a baby staring at you 5 inches away the entire time.

This WOULD have been an awesome picture if Kelli wasn't blurry. She was doing her army crawl on Mom's floor two days ago and Sydney joined in to cheer her on. Then suddenly the music for Backyardigans came on and grabbed both of their attention instantly.

Sydney has her PaPa's smile in this picture!! haha In every professional photo, when they tell him to "smile", it looks like he snarls. It's like that episode of "Friends" when Chandler & Monica try so hard to get professional pictures done and Chandler just. cannot. do. it. That's my Dad. That's what Sydney reminds me of here.

I get the feeling this binky will be in all of our pictures until Kelli is 5 years old!

Princess Pancakes! (thanks for the little reminder Jeannine!) Sydney loves these. Nothing different. You make normal pancakes from scratch (or bisquick, whatever you use), then add neon pink food coloring. Wa-la! Princess pancakes!

I cut them up and put them into a bowl for her. Can you believe she ate ALL of those! I made some for ME, but she wanted all of them. Well, she's the Princess, and I'm just a peasant, so off course....whatever. That bowl is bigger than her little belly but she managed to get it all in there.

Start 'em young! This is Kelli watching her favorite youtube videos! Currently she gets totally amped over the Classical Baby "Shapes" video. When it is over, she spits her binky out and starts crying immediately. I will press play again, and no sooner does she take a deep breath and stop crying. Princess #2.

I had to document this. Do you think she's hitting a growth spurt? She ate every last crumb of this for breakfast at 7:30 am. And yes, I had to get in the kitchen and cook eggs, sausage, toast etc for her at 7am. She also ate the entire piece of bread and a whole can of peaches (which even fills ME up). Look at all that food and then look at her belly. HOW does all of that fit?

Our First Family Weekend @ the Lake Cabin

This is officially Kelli's "lake house bouncey"

and Sydney loves loves loves her "lake house bed"... she gets the top!

for now, Kelli gets the bottom

When we got Kelli to sleep, we went to the pier to watch the lights on the water and listen to night time sounds. Unfortunately, the only sounds we could hear was Sydney's CONSTANT chatter. OOOOOOOooooh my peas. Seriously. So we had to send her to bed, then cracked open some champagne and sat together on the pier and talked. It was really nice.

The next day Sydney's "regulars" arrived for breakfast. She has named them Teddy & Rose.

The swans soon came after, but they remain nameless (for now).

They enjoyed their whole grain cheerios for sure. Theyre the best fed ducks on the lake.

My mom & dad came up to see the place and help decorate. Took my mom out to the famous "Bluebonnet Cafe" up the road in Marble Falls. Famous for their pie, although we didnt eat the pie. Here I am just goofing.

The food was very good though! I will find myself a regular there!

Kelli always looks surprised.

Sydney was very scared to ride the jet ski (because its not like any boat she's been on before!) but once she finally got going with Daddy, you could hear her from the distance shouting "wahoo!!!!" so it was really cute. I got a lesson from Andy and his first lesson on "how to NOT make a turn" he made us tip over. Fortunately, he's the only one who went flying into the water, but it made me a nervous wreck the rest of the time and I could hardly get over 22mph on the thing!! However, 22mph FEELS like 60mph on open water, and the views are amazing. It was alot of fun!

This is Kelli's idea of vacation. She LOVES being naked. (just like her sister) Soon as you put the diaper back on, she begins crying.

Andy's partner Jim was with us. He & Andy rode the jet skis out for hours & then Jim watched the kiddos while Andy and I rode. They did so much driving while he was here, including two 1hr trips back and forth to the lake house, and 2 4hr trips to dallas, then a flight back to maryland. Unbelievable. No thanks!

Zilker Park

MeMaw & Kelli (she loves her little owl)

Kelli giving me "vogue"

Sydney giving me "vogue"

Syd playing her music at Zilker Park

I had nothing to do with this outfit except the shoes, I will take credit for the shoes.

Everyone wanted to know "awww, is today her birthday??"... because she had on her princess crown. And I had to confess, that no, it was not her birthday, she just thinks very highly of herself.

On our way to feed the ducks, she saw a hungry squirrel.

I SWEAR we saw Matthew McCaunaghey (sp) running the trail on our way to the ducks. SWEAR. And when I turned to get a double take, other people were taking double takes as well, so I really think it was him.

I like how part of the city is reflecting in the water here.

I want to get out and start doing this soon! It's the perfect weather!

Kelli had a good nap!

Rainy day @ the mall

We've had alot of rain around here, which is awesome because it's been stage 4 drought for months! YAY for rain! But booooo for being stuck in the house with the flu and rain for 9 days! Sydney had enough of puzzles....

So we went up to the "fun" mall by my sis in Leander, which has a bounce house, tons of rides for kids, playscape and the Disney store. It's a 40 minute drive, but worth it. We met Wendy up there (which made Sydney's week!) and spent 4 hours there.

Even Kelli got to ride her first kiddie ride!

And I got on a ride with Sydney that was very difficult for me to get OUT of. But worth it.

She gave me a tour of London. Cheerio!

Then we went to the Disney store and she tried on EVERY Princess gown they had from Tinker Bell to Aurora to Belle to Cinderella. Head to toe with crown, shoes, purse, jewels, dress...everything. The people in the store were really nice about letting her try it all on and play with everything. She was in Heaven! (total package for tinker bell costume with wings = $78)

then she got to do this jumpy thing, which she has been afraid to do for the longest time. But she got brave and finally got on it. It was really cute. She couldnt bounce herself high enough so the guy had to kinda sling her up a few times and she really FLEW. It was so cute!
So we had a good time! And I actually bought my first pair of pants post-baby and am officially back in a size 4!
