Hunting for a new playground...

I love mornings like this!

Saturday we took Sydney to a "space camp" themed story time at Borders, which she really got into. Since none of the other children had pink space ships, she was determined to show them! She hardly listened to the story because she wanted her pink shuttle finished before the story was done. The carpet inside the bookstore is a coincidence.

I love this photo of her. Most of the kids at this story time were older, as it was more geared towards the older crowd of kiddos, but that is usually perfect for Sydney and she was very entertained and they loved her back.

Sunday we went to check out the property at Lake LBJ again. It takes us about 1-1/2 hours to get there, which means it would be our "weekend home". They lowered the price AGAIN, and I think we'd be getting a steal on this place, but we have alot of questions to ask the agent before we officially make the offer. The lot is pretty deep, so we'd later build on it. But for now just use the cottage that is currently on the lot and add a few rooms on to it to make it more livable.

Everything about this property and the town reminds us of Pop's place in Pasadena, MD. (Andy's grandfather's place on the Chesapeake). It has always been his dream to have a place on the water that we could pass down to our kids. We're pretty excited to have this be a part of our girls' lives.

Random.... later that night we went to my mom's to see Erik who drove in from NC (photo not shown, but many to follow!) and Kelli was telling some very exciting stories about our road trip ... "and then we saw dead fish bones and they were really big!! and then sister threw a rock in the water! yeah! and then I crapped my pants!"

Family Night

Andy decided to skip the movies for family night and surprise the best big sister in town with a trip to Gattitown (or...Daddytown...as she calls it)

She loves bowling!

I saw some precious moments with Kelli & Daddy but each time I snapped a picture her face showed up on the photo like THIS!

seriously.

She isn't really good at this game... but is DETERMINED to get better. I love her motivation to practice and get better at things. She has such a good attitude.

Getting her frustrations out at the gun range... learning how to survive on the streets.

Kelli LOVED all the lights in this place. She was really getting into it!

Aaaaand... apparently so was Sydney. Who was back at the bowling again!

Getting ready for bed and Kelli was cheerful.

Goodnight!

Tubby Time

There is some kind of serious conversation going on here that Moms cannot translate.

Wow. Definitely her father's daughter.

haha! maybe she's got a little of me in her!

Kelli now LOVES baths. She gets this super cute look on her face and coos every time you pour warm water on her head or belly. Sydney was more than happy to help, as usual.

I think Kelli is a little annoyed that I spent time taking pictures and not constantly pouring water on her. She's like "hello. dude. get back to work." And as you can see, Sydney couldn't take the temptation any longer, stripped and hopped in the tub herself.

=)

Kelli is warming up to Syd alot more now.
Sydney and her "cubs" reading an Elmo book. She calls her babies her "little cubs"... from left to right: Blankie, Bolt, Teddy, Macaroni and Tinker Bell.

Fly-By "Hi"

Chris was putting in the hours in his flying lessons, and brought Wendy along with him. The decided to fly over our house and wave hello! They were much closer than this picture makes it look. The helicopter was pretty loud and neighbors were peeking out of their homes to see what was going on, only to find Sydney yelling "HIIIIIIIIIIII CHRIS!"

Afterwards, they DROVE to our house on their way home and had dinner with us. Brought some goodies for Kelli and Sydney. Sydney did the honors of opening. She also wore her UK tshirt in honor of her British uncle.

Every time she saw what it was "baby wipes!! It's what I've always wanted!!".... "oh look Dad.. it's what we always needed!" (she totally learned that from my family at Christmas... no matter what you get, it's usually a GRAND appreciation, like "oh my god! tube socks!! I needed these!")

Kelli slept on her Godmother the entire time.

Playroom Organization!

Andy and I spent most of our Sunday organizing. I tackled the playroom and he battled it out with the garage (again). This time he built a ton of shelves to put everything instead of cleaning it and saying "okay now dont put anything in here" HA! I went to Walmart and bought all that "back to school" dorm room organizers for like $1-$5 each! So now the playroom can be shared and everything has a box, nook, shelf, a PLACE. Little People are no longer dumped in the same bin as the stuffed animals! I LOVE IT.

The answer to your question (why is she naked) is... "because I just feel like it's a time to be nakey"

Drawing Outside the Box

Her first specialty was people, then letters, and now she is getting into environmental scenery drawings! HAHA! Above is our family and she purposefully left out the hair on Kelli bc its "not girly yet". We'll work on her name, but she had good intentions, ran out of room and just used the space above.

These are her flowers. She does roses and daisies.

She now draws the sun, grass, our house (even with people peeking out of the windows) and cars. My little budding artist!

Our First Date after having the baby...

brought the girls to MeMaw's house... Sydney immediately wanted to prepare her tea (aka hot chocolate) for her tea party with MeMaw. And yes, this IS how you drink chocolate milk!!! With a spoon!!! I have always done that and no, I didn't teach Sydney this!! Some things are just in the genes.

MeMaw found her some puzzles for $1... so we left rest assured Sydney would be busy for a while.

After a few glasses of Canto Felice at Mandola (they were out of my Sangiovase!!!!) and an "okay" meal (we are counting every calorie, so basically anything we get at a restaurant isn't too 'special' lol... I had chicken rotisseri with cucumber salad and a side order of zucchini/mushrooms and red peppers. meh)... we took a drive around the hill country with the top down. LOVELY.

This is desperation. THIS is how I get myself in photos. Sad.

dates are fun.

we wound up at Nutty Brown, heard some music, and decided to go inside and have a drink.

Sydney's favorite parrot, Cheeto. I called to check in and Sydney got on the phone so I let her and Cheeto talk to eachother. It. was. hilarious. He actually responded to her through the phone (on speaker). HILARIOUS.

This band (Gary Lee Cox Band) was pretty good.

All our fellow Austinites being Austinites. Love this town.

On our way to pick up the girls.

9pm, and on our way home to go to bed... and her work is never done.
