Kelli's First Dance Recital

The Hula Girl & "Dr. Smith"

It was a gloomy day yesterday so we made up alot of things to do, including Sydney's performance of the "Hawaii dance".

she takes the Hawaii dance seriously. I'm guessing she learned this from "mystery lifegaurd" episode of Backyardigans.

Today, MeMaw is watching Syd (aka Dr. Smith) while I study. I was listening to their conversation and it was so cute, so I wanted to document it a little. Turns out Sydney was curing "pig flu", so Grandma had to get in bed to be checked.

She even checked her reflexes. MeMaw's temperature is 20-30, and her blood pressure is 16 pounds. She has a hybrid strain of horse flu and chicken flu. One in each ear, and lots of germs on her ankles. To be continued.... once MeMaw rests and takes all of her medicine.

Belly Dropped & Early Birthday Present

my face has spread a little towards the end of the pregnancy. I was trying to get a picture of the age spots on my face now, but you cant really see them.

My belly dropped a little. I noticed that I'm getting less kicks in the ribcage, and I can no longer see my belly button looking down. Few more weeks!

This is my closet now.... (the before picture)

this is the kit Andy bought to build me a new closet, and what it's supposed to look like afterwards. In contrast to this photo, however, you can see I have more clothes than that! I am excited about it though. Nothing like the gift of organization!

Sunshine on a Cloudy Day

Sydney woke up this morning and said "I need a tutu" and I asked why in the world she needs a tutu, and she said "because I have to blow my nose". I forgot, she still calls a 'tissue' a 'tutu'.
Sometimes I dont correct her, because its really cute!

She tooted in the tubby. She said "my water tooted".
Nice.

Since day 1 of bath time, she has always loved to snuggle up in a big towel afterwards, and "be the baby". She loves snuggling after a bath!

Until she's dry... then she's a ball of giggles and wiggles!

It's such a gloomy day with impending thunderstorms, so we decided to make a card for her friend. She takes her crafts very seriously. I wish I were more creative to help her, but she figures out her own thing anyway.
This kid makes me smile!

~ hey Sydney, I see some of your friends outside...
- Well I need to finish my dinner so you don't get mad at me.

Another "Lazy" Sunday

Sydney looking like an "Angel" just before church

After church we went to Wendy & Chris's house up north to celebrate all of the April birthdays (Wendy, Uncle Wally & Andy... as well as "The Sisters" Stephanie & Susan)
Off course there's never a dull moment when Sydney is playing with her Aunties.

Crap. She found my quiet spot.

She ate 3/4 of a cheeseburger, about 20 grapes and a glass of milk to earn this piece of cake.

This is actually Wendy cutting the cake... not my kid.

On the way home. This cannot be comfortable when she wakes up.

Was she too tired for the park? No. And neither was Dagny (and her tongue)

The Dienna's live literally across the street from the park. Chris was just taking the kids to get the mail, but Sydney sniffed them out and screamed "RILEY!!!!! HARPER!!!!!" as if her leg was cut off. And the kids ran to each other... so actually... Chris had no choice but to come to the park. Molly came over later and went to get the mail. Oh, and there's no point to this at all. He just saw me taking pictures and asked me not to put them on my blog. So that's why I did. What do you think the "FROGS" t-shirt is all about? I wondered that the entire time.

Din'Din @ the Eye's

My herb garden. There is still alot growing in, but the cilantro is fresh and ready! I picked some for my taco soup dinner.

Taco soup! Easy to make! 2lbs ground meat, 2 cans rotel, 2 cans corn, 2 cans black beans drained, 1 onion, 1 pkg ranch dressing, 1 pkg taco seasoning and throw it all together in a pot until hot and ready to serve. Garnish with tortilla chips, cheese and sour cream!
I made this and we had the Dienna's over for dinner. Molly & Chris and their little nuggets Riley & Harper. They live a couple houses down. It was a fun evening, and as if Sydney hadn't had enough activity for the day, they played until almost 11pm!

I even treated myself to a glass of wine!! It was awesome!

Riley, Sydney & Harper upstairs in the theatre room watching Tinkerbell (poor Harper... always has to do 'girl' stuff). They were cute, they said "let's snuggle eachother" and got close up and pulled a blanket on top and Sydney said "This is great. We're all such good buddies".

Wiener Dog Races in Buda, TX

After breakfast at MeMaw's, we went to home depot and got a grill, and some stuff for Andy to organize my closet (it's going to look awesome!!!). After that we went to the Buda Wiener Dog Races. This is a HUGE event (especially for little 'ol Buda) and 'wieners' from all over the country come for the thing. The dogs looked so cute racing. Who knew something with such short legs could run SO FAST!

Sydney was in Heaven over all of the dogs.

For a 'mere' $3, Sydney got to play a duck game and she won!

Okay, everyone is a winner and it cost us $3, but the pride she experienced was worth it.

Pony rides!
She also saw her friends Riley and Harper there, and they jumped on all of the moonbounces, I think there were almost 10 of them! They particularly enjoyed the dragon moonbounce, and I didnt get a picture... but you crawl in the dragon's mouth, and then out of it's butt. It looks like it's pooping out a bunch of kids, and they design held no secret that it was, indeed, the dragon's butt.

Andy suffered the consequences of parking far away. We had a long walk ahead of us and sydney was NOT willing to walk, herself. Little did she know the pregnant lady (Mom) had braxton hicks the entire afternoon and was ready to cut her feet off.

Saturday Morning Breakfast

Just when I think I can't get any bigger....

Saturday morning we went to my Mom's for breakfast pancakes. Sometimes it's just so awesome living in Texas and close to family!

Sydney wanted to play "school" with Aunt Jenny, and told her it's time to write in their journals. Sydney drew an apple and Jenny drew a banana, then they "observed" them.

Dr. Appointment Update

The countdown is ON.

I went to see my Obgyn yesterday for the bi-weekly check up. Everything is looking great, blood pressure is perfect, everything in my blood is perfect. Everything is perfect.... except! I am up another 4lbs which puts me at a total of +44lbs pre-pregnancy. UUUUGGGHHH. Is there ANY chance I won't gain another ounce until Kelli is born?????

Just kidding. I know the chances.

Her heart rate was in the 140's (normal) and my next appointment I have to take the group B strep test (lovely). Then I'll be seeing the doctor every week after that.

Today I went and took care of some things that I know I won't feel like doing once Kelli arrives. Renewed my car registration, got the car inspected, drove down to renew my license (but no thank you, it was drizzling and the line was out the door!), then went to the outlets and got Sydney and Kelli matching July 4th outfits from OshKosh (adorable). I may have gotten her a couple of 'big sister gifts' from the Disney Store Outlet as well.

Afterwards I drove by the DPS again, but the line was still out the door. So I moved onward to Austin, and drove to the St. Davids South Austin Hospital. Can you believe it!!!??? I actually registered for our birth! NOW IT'S FINAL!

To celebrate this huge step (for some reason... I have not been able to bring myself to register for our birth. One of those things...)... I stopped at Southpark Meadows and did a little shopping for the pregnant lady. I got a few gowns to wear at the hospital, some cool socks (crap, I forgot to get slippers) and linen spray. Now I can pack my bag!

If only Andy would schedule the friggin' painters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(ahem)

Welcome Home Daddy!

Look at this face. She really missed her Daddy this time. (she usually does) But she asked for Daddy ALOT more this trip. Maybe because it was his birthday and she was eagerly waiting for cake, yet pretending to just miss him? Dont put it past this little nugget. But it was cute. She was laying on the couch watching a cartoon after dinner yesterday and she looked so glum, so I asked her whats the matter and she said "I miss my Daaaaaaadddyyyyyy." It was so cute.

So we went to bed around 7pm last night and I said if she goes to sleep early, she'll get to see Daddy when he gets home (midnight). But she and I were both out COLD from such a long day, we missed him. We woke up next to each other and the first words out of her mouth were "Mommy... Daddy didn't come home last night. I want Daddy". And her voice was so sad! I told he was here and we could go get him! Which cheered her right up. He surprised her around the corner and she has been chipper and happy since! Wouldn't even let him go into his office alone. So she sat on Daddy's lap while he caught up on some emails and she played Monkeyball on the iPhone.

Reunited.

34.5 Weeks

Well now this seems more REAL! Is it possible for my stomach to get any bigger?? WHEW! 5 or so more weeks to go and it seems like it might be approaching too fast! I want this time to stand still for a while. I keep thinking about being a mother of two, instead of just one and how my life will change. What will Kelli be like? How will this effect my time with Sydney? Will Andy EVER call the painters to come and do the nursery??? Do we have everything we need? What if I go early? AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!

Good news is, I still have it pretty easy. No major complaints at all. I am feeling cramps here and there, sore muscles, crickity bones etc. But that all comes with a sudden extra 45lbs I guess! I have alot of braxton hicks contractions everyday, but have learned to walk through them, or breathe through them. My cravings had subsided and I'm all about healthy food now. I guess Kelli wasn't too fond of the chocolate, cheese, cereal and peanut butter diet I had going there for a month or so. It's all about meat and vegetables now! Hopefully that will help prep me for a healthy and safe delivery!

Earth Day, cont'

Sydney couldn't stay in the house for like 5 minutes today, so we were traveling from one playdate to the next. (and running errands). We ended up curing "ants in the pants" by going over to our neighbor's house (Molly & Chris) so Sydney could play with their kids, Riley and "Buzz Lightyear".

and off course so I could play with their awesome dog, Hamilton

The kids played tea party while Molly & I relaxed and chit-chatted. Then her husband came out from his office and joined us for an afternoon break....

the other neighbor, "Nosey-Noserton", heard the commotion and stuck his head over the fence. (aka Mr. Aaron). But he's great... he brought me a diet caffeine free dr. pepper.... cold, even. (off course a couple beers for Chris and himself). Then his wife got home, and knows when Aaron isn't home, he's next door, so she came over, too. Her name is Christine, & she's really nice.

THEN Sydney got the surprise of her life. Turns out her little friends are the proud owners of a giant water slide that their Mommy blew up for them. Sydney was a little shy of the water spraying at the top at first, then got the hang of it. We had to book it soon after to get to bible study, where I had a great feast of burritos (in my gluten free brown rice tortillas) and Sydney continued her crazy day playing with more friends!
We are both about to pass out cold.
And happy birthday to ANDY!!!!!!

"Errff Day"

It's Earth Day! So we celebrated by painting pottery and planting some seeds!

Aaaaand... this is how I spend most days....

This carried on for a good 25 minutes, without them getting tired for one second.
If I had this energy!!!!!

Seriously. Can I just have this energy for ONE day?

Quote of the Day

The scene: our park
Actors: Sydney and a little boy who just walked up with a shovel & pail.

Act I: Hey little boy! Whats your name? (no answer) Well do you want to play with me? (no answer)... well my name is Sydney... do you have a name? (no answer... he turns his back to her again.)... well its okay to play with me... I dont have any germs. (she sounds very confident).

end scene.

"Dinner in front of the tv" night

Pizza, carrots, apple sauce and milk.

Cannot be consumed without her safety helmet apparently.

Sydn-arella

Here she is moping because she can't go to the ball (pool) until she finishes her dusting chores.

That's right.

Now she knows what pay-back is!
She is working off all those hours I gave her playing My Little Ponies and letting her mess up my kitchen so she can learn to cook!!!

Sydney Being Cute... as usual

we were in the car waiting for Daddy to come out of the store.
Played a quick game of "find me". Not sure if you can guess how that goes while you're inside of a car and strapped into a 5 pt harness car seat?

Sydney Flies a Kite

First time for everything. We went and bought Sydney her first kite this morning and went over to the Buda City Park downtown. The wind was perfect at first, but then died down and she lost interest in the kite-flying when her friends arrived. So they trotted off to the playground while the daddies stood there flying the Barbie and Shark kites.
