Saturday @ Wendy's

First order of business... Kelli had to find a cozy spot for a nap after that 45 minute drive!

Sydney barely got through the doorway before she began pulling out toys to play with Wendy (aka "Wendz")

Look who woke up happy and ready to snuggle her Godmother!

Meanwhile, Sydney is earning back her priviledge to swim in the pool (she was not a good listener during lunch and spilled her sandwhich on the floor).

Finally! Kelli took a liking to the pool. I'm guessing because the water was like 80 degrees.

My girlies!

Uncle Chris got home after flying a friend around (he has his pilot's license now!) and he and Syd got their dork goggles on and did a little diving. Sydney now goes ALL the way under water and will swim! She CAN swim! but she wont go in the deeper end. She will only swim in the shallow areas. Baby steps.

Whoa!

I looked out this morning and saw my rose bush has gotten HUGE. Seemingly overnight. I couldn't believe how big it was. I was just watering it the other day, too. And nearly every branch was blooming.

Random: We went to Target yesterday and I think it's funny how we always seem to run into one of my mom's friends somewhere as she's carrying one of her granddaughters. She is always showing one of them off, and it's cute. Well, she hadn't introduced Kelli to her friend YET, and Sydney got offended and stepped in to properly introduce her little sister and make sure that the woman agreed she was cute. No one was allowed to chat with each other until that matter of business was taken care of first. Then we marched off to Starbucks where Sydney ordered a hot chocolate (it was 102* outside, but whatever) and then quickly splattered it all over the bread isle 3 minutes later.

Insurance

we switched insurance carriers literally TWO days before kelli was born. Needless to say, it has been such a hassle these past (almost) 3 months now arguing with our new carrier to pay this or that, and insisting to the pharmacy that YES I am on the policy and waiting 30 minutes while they verify only to hear each time that they dont have a record of me even though we've been with them for 11 weeks now!! And although I have called to confirm our coverage twice, we are still recieving bills from the hospital for over $12,000 for being uninsured! Oh, I just want to crawl away somewhere.

Future Lobbyist, Neurologist, Venture Capitalist...or some kind of "ist"...

This is my 3yo, warming up her TWO computers in the morning to do her "work" while she eats her "nutritional" and "balanced" breakfast, which will prepare her to be rich someday, right? I mean... happy and well balanced.

Because I wholeheartedly endorse this product for anyone with a headache, who does not have access to real dope. Not that I endorse dope. Just say no.

Why Can't You Do That?

So, on Saturday we get to the mall before it officially opens and we were just walking around. We passed the GNC store which had an ad in the front window of a guy doing a head stand and splits at the same time. I asked Andy "Why can't you do that?" and Sydney decides to answer for him "Because it's Saturday"... Andy looked at me and said "Because it's Saturday".

10 weeks & Rollin'

She adores her sparkly star. I think because it has a happy face on it? I dont know. Kelli seems to smile every time she opens her eyes. She's a happy little boo.

... who has now figured out how to roll from her back to side... then from her side to her tummy. Heaven help us.

Is it too early to wash her hands? What do I wash them with? She likes to suck her fingers all the time and that bothers me. I'm always taking them out and popping the pacifier in. Which is the lesser of evils?

Back to her side again. I got to get video of her going to her tummy. It reminds me of when I was pregnant. She swings her leg until she gets enough momentum and eventually rolls her body over. It's like watching an 8mo pregnant Sara try and get out of bed.

Saturday Family Mall Trip

It's been unGodly hot, and we didn't want to be lazy inside all day so we ventured out to the mall with the kids to let Syd ride some rides and run around. I dont know why Andy happily agreed, when he about passed out after being there ONE HOUR and said "I'm just about done here, I am beat". Wow. God help him if anything ever happens to me.

Syd was happy to help feed Kelli a bottle that I pumped on the way up there. Really, this makes me realize, there is never a time I am not just MOTIONLESS. Even when I'm the passenger in a car, I can't just sit there!

Sydney rode the magic mushroom spaceship to the moon. No comment.

LITERALLY passed out mid-sentence. She was like this for a good 10 miles and I thought she was awake and writing her letters, I yelled back at her to play a joke and she didn't budge, took a closer look and notice her eyes were closed. I checked for a pulse. She was alive.

Kelli was being a bit more fussy until I put on her baby einstein video, then she seemed more content, however, she didn't watch it... she just listened. Then she wanted her Piglet to sing to her. Then she wanted Paul Simon. I spent the entire 45 minute drive stationed on my knees facing backwards, reaching towards one of the kids. No wonder I am always sore!

Kelli @ 9 Weeks

It's official, she loves ceiling fans.

and, whoa, camera flashes!

she sits here and watches me when I get on the treadmill. It's almost creepy bc she doesn't always fall asleep, so I'll be running along and can just *feel* someone watching me, I put my feet on the sides of the treadmill, turn around, and there she is just swinging back and forth and her eyes never off of me. Just like... yep... I'm watching you.

After my sweaty run, Sydney and I sat on the couch and read some step-into-reading books. How sad is this picture. I literally just walked off the treadmill, I'm pretty gross. But she waited so patiently for me to read to her (for her to read to ME, actually).

Yet, another birthday party

Yep... she got a time out... for not listening. (she kept drinking pool water, which I feel is way past her now). And I think we've averaged 2 birthday parties since the beginning of June. Sydney should have cupcakes running through her viens by now.

This was at Little Stacy pool, and we will return! It's a public wading pool that goes up to 1ft, 8 inches. It never got crowded and it was completely shaded!

Look how that tree covers the entire pool. Awesome.

She had a blast and I didnt die of heat exhaustion.

Meet Princess the Dino

Day 3 Princess was peaking out of her shell

Today we finally coaxed her to come out all the way. I think she was either shy, or just stuck.

Camera, nor Kids...cooperated, but...

I got maybe 2-3 good (decent) shots. Kelli loves being nakey on this rug.

Gymnastics

On Mondays they have an open play at Olympic Hills here in Buda that I sometimes take Sydney to, and should more often, as she loves it.

If I didn't have Kelli in the sling with me, I'd be jumping in there with her. It's a great workout to get OUT of that foam pit, have you tried??

My friend Linda was there with her daughter Ryah. Linda is the sling-master and helped me with mine, and I now know like 3 new ways to hold kelli in it. it's awesome.

Syd got braver and went off of higher jumps. I really wished Kelli wasn't in the sling so I could go! I'm a Peter Pan at heart sometimes at these playdates and before Kelli was born I would jump through the fountains with her, run on the trampoline track after her, jump into the foam pits, climb on the monkey bars (which is alot harder than I remember it being when I was 5)...

That's What Sisters Are For...

Dinosaur named Princess

We went to the Cracker Barrel this morning as a "last farewell" breakfast before Erik left.

Uncle Gus got Sydney a "totally cool REAL dinosaur egg!" It will hatch in 3 days.

She is already giving it alot of TLC and has named it Princess (she knows it will be a girl) and it has begun to crack.

Kelli is beginning to take a serious liking to Classical Baby videos.

no comment.

Cafe Monet

After 3 hours of outdoor heat, we ducked inside Cafe Monet to make some Grandparents Day presents. (I forget if its August or September, but I got something in the email reminding me about it, so either way... I'm prepared for it now). This place is a bit overpriced, but I have a creative genius for a daughter and the experience is alot of fun, so I'm willing to overlook the price tag once... a year. Seriously... $22 for a coffee mug??? Really?

she draws her "outline" in pencil first.

paints the background, and then begins.

I dont know where she got the idea, but she began dipping the bottom of her paint brush in paint and then dotting it on her piece to make perfect polka dots. I thought that was pretty creative.

chocolate pudding. need I say more?
