Sydney woke up on Friday morning for her 6th birthday! Before school, she opened her gift and got to eat a CUPCAKE for breakfast.
Rollerskates!!
Which we now have to return because their size 12 is more like a toddler size 6.
While Sissy was at school I had to take Monster with me to the doctor for more xrays and a cast. Turns out my foot is fractured and the wrist is broken. But hey... if this is what I gotta do to get out of cooking and laundry and dishes for a month, okay by me!!!
(spoiler alert: that didn't really happen)
So. Since we informed Sydney that she only gets ONE birthday present this year (due to Santa's visit so close by) she decided that all she wants to do for her birthday is SEE Santa. And make sure he knows what to bring. She had her notebook with her to show him her organized (by priority) list of gift ideas. "IDEAS". uh huh. Check out the look on his face.
We then ate at California Pizza Kitchen with Memaw and Papa then rode the Jingle Train.
And tried to get a family picture to mark her 6th.
eh... I'll take it.
I remembered I had a coupon for Old Navy so Andy (ANDY!!!?) decided to go and scope out $50 to spend. The girls and I just browsed and Kelli found herself a friend. When the little girl didn't hug her back, she couldn't understand. Yes darling, that is a fake friend.
(just one of many you will have in your life... oh... metaphore!)

Sydney was the first to sign my official cast.
Followed by the rest of her party guests.
Sydney's birthday party was a success! Instead of guests bringing Sydney presents, we collected donations for Brown Santa. Over 30 kids showed up! We still had fun roller skating and eating cupcakes. For sure!
Our next door neighbor and her girls. Sydney & Katie are good friends and play so well together.
Sharon and her gorgeous daughter Jesse!
Kristy and little Kate all dressed to the nines.
Kelli couldn't skate but Papa walked her around the rink and danced with her. That was good enough for her.
Sydney and her BFF Julia! Hard to believe they've been best friends for 4 years now!
Sydney collected THREE barrels of toys!
Officer Luis came to talk to the kids about the importance of their donations and how they will help the community this Christmas. It was an awesome experience.
As always, Sydney has a good question relative to the situation. She asked "how do you know what toys to give to who?"
I loved watching this all soak in to the kids while the officer took the barrels off to the truck.
